Neglect & Elsewheres

I’ve been neglecting this blog terribly, mostly because I can’t think of things to write and can’t always convince myself anyone wants to read it when I do. So, in the last few years, I’ve developed my jewellery practice a bit more; done some fairly intense thinking about what working with paper means; acquired a new and exciting fibromyalgia diagnosis, which as I’m sure you can imagine is awfully reassuring and does a great deal to help; and visited some amazing artwork. I’ve also started again on relief printmaking, after finding a couple of hacks to stop it being so very hard on my aching hands. One is as simple as not trying to carve wood or lino myself!

Block printed tree
I cut this block from heavy paper and mounted it onto a backing. Turned out it was shallow enough that it needed lots of masking tape, but the fade edge worked out well.
